Save SportDOG SDF-100 In-Ground Fence System

I have had this system for containing five very active hunting dogs that would bolt at the drop of a hat if you let them. They are German Shorthair Pointers that have very thin coats so we keep the collars loose to avoid irritating their skin. The studs are not an inch long like one reviewer said. They are actually about 5/8" long. You can adjust the radius of the signal from the control up to ten feet. I have friends who use it where there is ten feet or more of snow in the winter and it still contains their Siberians.
I like the function that vibrates like a cell phone when the dog is near the perimeter. There is also a beep that signals the dog when he is close. The dog will only get a shock when it passes beyond the beep and the vibration. The dogs learn to respect the perimeter. I have tested it by shocking myself to see what it was like. It is very unpleasant like a wasp sting but I felt no jittery side effects as you would get from a live 120 volt current. It is all a nine volt battery can deliver and that is obviously adequate.
I have occasionally broken the wire while digging or dragging heavy equipment over an exposed section. It is easy to test because the control will beep fast when you turn the radius knob if the wire is compromised. It was always easy to repair and get back running when there was a break. There is a generous amount of wire for my half acre. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I highly recommend this system for anyone who wants peace of mind knowing that your dogs will be there when you want them.Get more detail about SportDOG SDF-100 In-Ground Fence System.
