From the point of view of my 12lb American Bobtail ... this horrible scratching post has a life of it's own. She only tried it twice - the first time it fell on top of her (don't bother trying to secure it to anything, doesn't work) and the second time it became stuck to her claws. She hissed, spat and shook it off her paws then ran with much sputtering and hissing to hide behind the bed.
