Low Price Petsafe PDT00-10603 Yard-and-Park Remote Trainer

We have a large breed dog and no fence. He likes to bark. Pretty standard dog behavior. To remedy the excessive barking we first bought PetSafe Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent which did not work at all for him. We also installed PetSafe PRF-304W Deluxe In-Ground Fence to keep him in the yard, we bought the large breed version but because hes so tall he could walk over it and once he figured out that he could run fast enough he could jump over he was off.

Then my wife found this here. We started using it as directed along with training to ensure he understood. Now we can go outside and he stays with us all the time. We never have to ever zap him. He understand when we beep he needs to pay attention. So it may seem cruel at the beginning but once they make the connection that when the collar goes on its time to pay attention they behave themselves.

Battery life: (+)
On our previous collar, PetSafe PDBDT-305 Deluxe Big-Dog Trainer the batteries died every couple of days. At a few dollars a piece they became prohibitively expensive to replace so we became inconsistent with regards to him wearing the collar. On this model the batteries in both the remote and collar are rechargeable. It comes with the charger so that portion of the equation is taken out.

Durability: (+)
The strap seems a bit flimsy because its like cloth embedded plastic. However, he wears it just about every day and we have had it for several months, with no sign of wearing out.

Overall:(+)
This is a fantastic training aid that can help immensely.
